Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research Centre – Eligibility Criteria

Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences and Research Centre(VINSRC), Bangalore is one of the top nursing colleges in Bangalore. This college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) that offers high standard education on general nursing. VINSRC offers 2 undergraduate programs B.Sc. Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and postgraduate program M.Sc Nursing. Apart from this, the colleges offers Dilpoma in General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM). Nursing aspirants who wish to take admission to either of the nursing courses must meet the eligibility criteria as well.

Course Eligibility

B.Sc. Nursing

The aspiring students must pass 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English from a recognized Board ICSE/CBSE/HSCE/AISSCE or equivalent board.

M.Sc. Nursing

The candidate must pass Basic B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing or equivalent examinations from a recognized Institute or University to become eligible for pursuing this course.

B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

The interested student must pass 10+2 or equivalent examinations and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) to pursue the certificate program.

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

The aspirant must pass 10+2 or equivalent examinations with any subjects from any recognized board/institution or equivalent.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Nursing

Other eligibility criteria for the interested students to apply for the 4-years B.Sc. Nursing course are as follows:

  • SC/ST candidates must pass 10+2 with at least 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) and English.
  • Candidates who wish to take admission at Vydehi Nursing College should have completed 17 years on or prior to the 31st December of the admission year.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc Nursing

Other eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the 2-years M.Sc. Nursing course are as follows:

  • A nursing aspirant must gain at last one year of work experience in a hospital or a Nursing educational institution after obtaining a Basic B.Sc Nursing Degree certificate before applying for an M.Sc Nursing Degree program.
  • The candidate should be registered with the State Nursing Council as a registered midwife and registered nurse.
  • The age limit for a General Category candidate is 48 years, whereas, for an SC/ST candidate, the age limit is 50 years.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

Other eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the 2-years B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)course are as follows:

  • The candidate must be registered with the State Nursing Council as a registered midwife and registered nurse.

Eligibility Criteria for Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

Other eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the 3-years Diploma Course General Nursing and Midwifery(GNM) are as follows:

  • The aspiring candidate must be minimum 17 years old at the time of admission in the college.
  • If the candidate is a foreign national then he/she must have qualified +2 or equivalent exam that is recognized by the association of Indian University.
  • This criteria is applicable for the candidates from neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Tibet.
