St. Joseph's College of Law, Bangalore – Eligibility & Exams:

The common eligibility to all the 4 degrees (inclusive of UG and PG) is that the applicant’s minimum aggregate should be 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) for the general category and 40% in the case of SC and ST students for the respective qualifying examination. Besides that;

Course Eligibility

5 Year Integrated LLB Program

The candidate must pass the +2 exam in any stream with a minimum of 45% (Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce & Management, Sciences) from any recognised Board in India. Incase of SC/ST the candidate must obtain 40% in aggregate.

The age limit for a General Category candidate is 20 years, whereas, for an SC,ST candidate, the age limit is 22 years.

2 Year LLM Program

Candidates who have passed Undergraduate degree LLB (3 or 5 year courses) with a minimum aggregate of 50% and above, from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC/AIU.

Incase of SC/ST the candidate must obtain 45% in aggregate.

Course Eligibility Criteria:

[For LL.B]

  • The student should have pursued a relevant UG degree, from a recognised university, that is established by the Act of Parliament or even by a State Legislature and/or any other equivalent national institution or Deemed or Foreign University.
  • He/she should not be more than 30 years for the general category and less than 35 years for SC and ST candidates, as of 1st June.

[For B.A., LL.B, B.B.A., LL.B, and B.Com., LL.B]

  • The candidate should have completed a Pre-University course or the Senior Secondary School (+2) or equivalent such as (11+1, 'A' level in Senior School Leaving Certificate course) from a recognised board.
  • For correspondence degree holders, the candidates must submit their +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate.
  • The student should not be less than 20 years as a general category student and 22 years for SC and ST applicants.

List of Course Entrance Exams:

The primary criteria for admission students at St. Joseph’s College of Law are based on merit scores. However, entrance exams such as Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), might be considered for taking in applications. The entrance exam will be conducted for the integrated programs only.
