This a two-year course at MSRINER. The aspiring candidate must have passed Diploma Nursing or GNM after the 10+2 or equivalent exam. He/She must be a registered nurse and should be registered himself/herself with any state nursing registration council. For students from other countries, the eligibility is that he/she should be a registered nurse recognized by the nursing council of their country. The total number of seats for the B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) Course is 30.

Candidates must pass Basic B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing or equivalent examinations from a recognized institute or university to become eligible for pursuing this course. After obtaining Basic B.Sc Nursing Degree certificate, a nursing aspirant must gain at last one year of work experience in a hospital or a Nursing educational institution before applying for M.Sc Nursing in Vydehi Institute of Nursing Sciences.
