Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences - Eligibility Criteria

KCDS&H is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka.The aspirants seeking admission in VS Dental College, Bangalore should satisfy the eligibility criteria and should qualify with minimum marks in the entrance exam.

The candidate should have passed the 10+2 or any equivalent exam from a recognized Boards/Councils/Intermediate Education established by State Governments/ Central Government with English as one of the subjects and Physics,Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
A candidate must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.In respect to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC the qualifying marks is 40 % in total aggregate and must have passing marks in English.
The candidate shall have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete this age on 31st December of the year in which he/she seeks admission.

MDS

A candidate must have a recognised degree of Bachelor in Dental Surgery, awarded by a university or institute in India and registered with the State Dental Council and has obtained provisional or permanent registration and has undergone compulsory rotatory internship of a year in an approved/recognised dental college.

Other Eligibility Criteria for BDS

  • If the candidate belongs to SC/ST then he/she must have a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate
  • For physically disabled candidates the minimum marks required is 45%.

Other Eligibility Criteria for MDS

  • For SC/ST/OBC/category candidates, the eligibility criteria will be applicable only if he/she is from the Karnataka origin
  • If the aspiring candidate is in-service then the age limit must be 48, and there is no age limit for non-service candidate
  • If the candidate’s dental degree from a dental college that is outside India, then he/she must be qualified in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) - the Screening Test which is conducted by the Nation Board of Education/DCI.
