What is NATA Exam?

National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is the entrance test for B. Arch seats in engineering colleges all over India. NATA measures the aptitude of the candidate in the field of architecture. The architecture related skills in drawing, observation, aesthetics, sense of proportion, and critical thinking ability are assessed in this test. The Council of Architects, COA, is conducting NATA since 2006. COA is a government instituted specialist body.

Eligibility
  • Minimum 50% marks in 10+2 with physics, chemistry & mathematics.
  • Candidates appearing for 10+2 may also appear provisionally.
What is JEE Main Paper 2 Exam?

Paper 2 of JEE Main is for B.Arch / B.Planning admission and is conducted by National Testing Agency. Part 1 of paper 2 is an objective type computer based test on mathematics. Part II is a pen and paper based offline test to test the drawing aptitude of candidates.

Eligibility
  • The minimum academic qualification to apply for JEE Main is a pass in the qualifying exam (10+2)
  • Minimum 75% marks for general category (65% marks for Reserved category) to get admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other CFTIs
  • There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main, but students have to satisfy the age limit requirements of the institutes to which they are seeking admission
  • The students can take 3 consecutive attempts in JEE Main. The number of tests in one academic year will be treated as one attempt. The students can take two tests in an academic year and the best score will be considered for admission.
  • It is mandatory for all students appearing for JEE Main that they must have pursued at least 5 subjects with physics and mathematics as their core subjects in the qualifying exam.
What is GATE Exam?

GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is a national level examination that tests the comprehensive understanding on undergraduate subjects in relevant engineering and science area. GATE is conducted jointly by IISc Bangalore and seven IITs on behalf of the National Coordination Board under government of India.

GATE score is superior to all other entrance exam scores throughout India, and is considered for most PhD programmes as well for short listing in engineering and certain management programmes. GATE is also recognized by a few foreign institutes. Many public sector undertakings have been using GATE score in their recruitment process.

The validity of the score is 3 years and the test is given once a year. GATE tests the candidates’ bachelor's degree level knowledge of the chosen engineering discipline. For admission to Architecture /Planning candidates have to answer B.Arch /B.Planning level questions.

Eligibility
  • Graduates /final year students in architecture/planning are eligible to apply for the test to get admission to PG Architecture/Planning. Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognized by UGC/AICTE as equivalent to relevant area are also eligible.
